Unique sterling silver pendant. Handmade & sustainable featuring an oval faceted kyanite gemstone within a tension setting. Stunning ocean colours.
A unique pendant born of the coral and kelp of their underwater home, this pendant is a beautiful Selkie talisman. Bright sterling silver gives an ethereal feel and highlight the organic texture.
In Celtic and Norse mythology, selkies or selkie folk meaning 'seal folk' are mythological beings capable of therianthropy, changing from seal to human form by shedding their skin. They are found in folktales and mythology originating from the Northern Isles of Scotland.
These seductive creatures were often trapped by humans, who would hide their seal skin, so they could not return to the sea. This necklace shows that’, despite capture, their soul is free and forever held by their ocean home, among the deeps sea corals and kelp beds.
