Sales & Returns

We love what we do, and want you to be delighted with any items that you buy from us at Boho Silver. We pride ourselves in the jewellery we create, and want any purchase from us to be a positive experience.

Faulty?
Should you find there is an issue with the fabrication of the jewellery, then we will happily exchange, repair or fully refund upon return of the item and an inspection. Please do let us know within 30 days of receipt. At this point you have a choice to return for a full refund, have an alteration done where possible, or exchange the item for something else. After the 30 day period, but within six months of delivery/purchase you are entitled to a repair or replacement.
This will not include where items have been damaged through wear. Please refer to our guidance for care of our jewellery and warranty policy below.

Usually a fabrication issue will become apparent within the first month of wear as there will be an inherent weakness. We stand behind the quality of our handmade jewellery and are happy to provide repairs due to  fabrication issues for one year from the date of purchase. To ascertain whether the issue is with fabrication, or through damage/wear & tear, we ask that you return the item to us for inspection.

Warranty excludes coverage for wear and tear, dents, scratches, accidental damage, loss of sea glass or precious and semi-precious stones from settings (outside of the 30 day warranty), neck chain breakage, loss of item and theft.

Our jewellery is made from strong, durable materials but is not indestructible or maintenance free. Striking objects, banging against surfaces and lifting heavy items, boxes, using gym equipment, or even gardening can damage your jewellery, distorting and weakening settings.. Gold and silver can bend and crack, and sea glass and gemstones will break and fall from their settings if worn without due care, or if attention isn’t paid to loose stones. The most common damage to jewellery is through wear and tear; distorted ring shanks, pulled prongs, distorted settings and lost stones are common. This is why it is important to check - rings especially - for distortion or loose stones. Most fabrication defects will show up quickly, usually within the first month of wear as the structure of the jewellery piece is compromised, and the same is true for loose stones. Vibration from wear will quickly highlight any loose stones right after the ring is set. In this case contact us and we will rectify. Stone setting is an art and done by hand. Where gems are lost from settings after a month of wear, this is most often down to damage or wear and tear as outlined above.

Change of heart

If pre-made jewellery is ordered online, and you change your mind,, returns of unworn, undamaged jewellery within original packaging will be accepted for an exchange only if contact is made within 14 days from receipt of item..  Earrings are non returnable for obvious hygiene reasons. Jewellery items that are bespoke or have been altered or resized to your specification and requirement are not eligible for return or exchange after purchase.

Please contact us before returning.

Ring & Bangle Sizing

It is the responsibility of  the customer to ensure they are ordering the correct size.

To this end we have available reusable ring sizers on the website. Our rings are one-off designs, with no digital or physical reproduction. If a resize is required (and possible) after purchase, it is for the customer to pay all postage costs and the cost of resizing.

If a ring has been ordered with a request for a resize, it cannot be returned or exchanged. If further resizing is needed after the initial resize, this is at the customer's expense.

Commissions

Where a piece of jewellery is made to the customers desired specifications, there is a 20% non refundable deposit required before work begins, as we must invest the time and buy the precious materials. Alterations to the original design, incorrect ring size given etc will be at the customer’s  own expense.

If you have a problem with your jewellery down the line, we are keen to help, but please be reasonable around expectations as outlined in the above.

Jewellery Care

We want you to enjoy your jewellery, but it was never designed for wear in a roller derby. Below is accepted general advice for ALL sterling silver.

  • do not submerge closed-back settings in water
  • do not wear in pools, the sea, jacuzziss or hot tubs
  • wear as a dress item, remove overnight
  • do not using cleaning products while wearing rings
  • quality silver will naturally tarnish, and this is accelerated depending on the acidity of an individual’s skin, as well as products that the silver is in contact with; perfumes, body lotions, shampoos, cleaning products etc
  • clean jewellery regularly with a silver cleaning cloth to remove tarnish
  • storage is best in an airtight bag with an anti-tarnish strip
  • silver and gold can bend and crack if you wear it hard
  • knocks, dents and whacks can break or distort  stone/sea glass setting,s, causing broken or lost stones
  • get any loose stones seen to and do not wear the item until sorted

Please note that our jewellery is handmade with high quality sterling silver. Silver naturally will dull and tarnish with exposure to air. Commercially produced jewellery is most often rhodium plated to slow tarnish and keep a false shine.
